About

My name is Brett Greenland. My kids call me Pappy Green. I have been playing acoustic instruments for over 40 years. I started out on the mandolin under the tutelage of Mr Phil Skinner MBE, and joined his Sydney Mandolin Orchestra at the ripe old age of 12. I added 5 string banjo a few years later and finally the acoustic guitar. Been playing ever since, and even got the kids playing too. Back in the early 2000’s I visited the workshop of Charters Towers luthier Taffy Evans for a repair and he generously showed me around. That got me thinking …..
I started building guitars after learning from inspirational master luthier and all-round gentleman Chris Wynne of Melbourne. I have since expanded from acoustic guitars to include mandolin family instruments and weissenborn style lap slide guitars using the highest quality Australian timbers.
Instruments are made to order so you have the opportunity choose the timbers, body shape, scale length and finish to suit your style of playing.
I work from my climate controlled workshop in suburban Townsville and invite you to drop in to have a look and talk instruments. Look around the website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me.
